An English Translation of the Holy Scriptures
When the Apostle Paul, who refers to himself as a Hebrew of Hebrews, writes in 2 Timothy 3:16 that "Every Scripture is Yahweh-breathed", he is making a reference to the original Hebrew Scriptures commonly referred to by most Christians as the Old Testament. Those original inspired Hebrew Scriptures were primarily written in Hebrew with small portions written in Aramaic and included God's proper name, over 6,800 times. The transliteration of God's proper name, known as the Tetragrammaton, is YHWH and by a majority consensus is pronounced Yahweh. However, most agree that no one knows with absolute certainty what the correct pronunciation should be. Since most English translations do not have Yahweh’s name in them, people generally don’t understand the importance of His Name and do not include it in their daily prayers and worship. Our God declares “I am Yahweh” over 160 times setting himself apart from other gods and leaving no doubt as to what name he wants his people to call on. Yahweh’s Name is actually used more than 1000 times in connection with the communication of His Word and over 600 times by the inspired writers of the Psalms. A reading of the Psalms, in any translation where the name Yahweh appears, will confirm the importance of "The Name" and the attitude that all who claim Yahweh as their God should demonstrate in their personal relationship and communication with Him.
Since the new millennium began, there have been several Bible translations that have restored the name Yahweh to the Old Testament Scriptures. Leading the way in this new trend is the "World English Bible" first published in 1997. Using the "World English Bible" as its translation foundation, "YAHWEH’S WORD" has taken this trend one step farther and has also restored Yahweh's Name in the New Testament. The “Orthodox Jewish Bible” was originally published in 2002 and staying true to Jewish tradition, replaced the Tetragrammaton (YHWH) with the Hebrew word “Hashem” (which in English is translated “The Name”) over 7,300 times. Almost 5,900 times in the Old Testament Scriptures and just over 1,400 times in the New Testament.
The New Testament often records Jesus and his apostles quoting from the Old Testament Scriptures. One can easily assume Jesus, the only begotten Son of Yahweh, would have quoted verbatim from the original Hebrew Scriptures. In " YAHWEH’S WORD ", Old Testament references and quotes found in the New Testament have been edited, where possible, to be more consistent with the Old Testament Scriptures. This, in turn, causes the name Yahweh to be read over 1,500 times within the text of the New Testament in the same context as it appears in the Old Testament.
Since it was Yahweh who inspired the original Hebrew Scriptures and included His name over 6,800 times, the question that needs to be resolved is this: “Who has the authority to remove the name Yahweh totally and completely from the Holy Scriptures”? The obvious answer is simply, “No One” except Yahweh himself. And there is absolutely no reason for Yahweh to do that. So, who is responsible for accomplishing such a major task? Who would want to do something so blasphemous? The one who has the most to gain is Yahweh’s number one enemy, Satan, the prince of this world. Satan is the father of lies, the master of deceit, and the author of confusion. Satan lied about the name Yahweh being too sacred to pronounce, he has deceived many people into thinking “The Name” is not important. How can the same name be too sacred to pronounce and yet unimportant at the same time? People are confused, not knowing what is true and not true. To know the truth a person must know Yahweh, the God of truth. (Psalm 31:5) They must follow his Son, Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:4-7) A person must also allow the Spirit of Truth to guide them as their indwelling Counselor. (John 17:15-17) The truth is Yahweh, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are united as one in their love for one another and in their love for everyone in this world. Love is the perfect bond of Unity. (Colossians 3:14-16)
In Mark 12:28-31 when Jesus was asked by one of the scribes what the greatest commandant of all is, this is what he answered: “The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel: YAHWEH is our God, YAHWEH is one. You shall love YAHWEH your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.’ (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) This is the first commandment. The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Leviticus 19:18) There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Since 1997 many people have become more aware of Yahweh’s name but there is still a long way to go before “The Name” is known and understood by everyone. Reading “YAHWEH’S WORD” and telling others about it will help increase that awareness. “YAHWEH’S WORD” is available online from Amazon.com or add it to your phone for free with the “YouVersion” app at www.Bible.com. That is my name.
I will not give my glory to another,
nor my praise to engraved images.
Genesis 4:25-26 (Men began to call on YAHWEH’S name)
25 Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, saying, “for God has given me another child instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.” 26 A son was also born to Seth, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on YAHWEH’S name. 4
Exodus 3:14-15 (YAHWEH is speaking to Moses at the burning bush)
14 God said to Moses, “I am HE WHO EXISTS,” and he said, “You shall tell the children of Israel this: ‘HE WHO EXISTS has sent me to you.’” 15 God said moreover to Moses, “You shall tell the children of Israel this, ‘YAHWEH, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
Numbers 6:22-27 (YAHWEH is giving instructions to Moses)
22 YAHWEH spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying,
‘This is how you shall bless the children of Israel.’ You shall tell them,
24 ‘YAHWEH bless you, and keep you.
25 YAHWEH make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you.
26 YAHWEH lift up his face toward you, and give you peace.’
27 “So, they shall put my name on the children of Israel; and I will bless them.”
Deuteronomy 6:4-7 (Moses is giving a command from YAHWEH to the children of Israel)
4 Hear, Israel: YAHWEH is our God. YAHWEH is one. 5 You shall love YAHWEH your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; 7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Mark 12:28-31 (Jesus is speaking to one of scribes and includes quotes from Deuteronomy and Leviticus)
28 One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel: YAHWEH is our God, YAHWEH is one. 30 You shall love YAHWEH your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.’ (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) This is the first commandment. 31 The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Leviticus 19:18) There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Joshua 24:14-15 (Josuah is speaking to the children of Israel)
14 “Now therefore fear YAHWEH, and serve him in sincerity and in truth. Put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, in Egypt; and serve YAHWEH. 15 If it seems evil to you to serve YAHWEH, choose today whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve YAHWEH.”
Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (Moses is making a proclamation in a song just prior to his death)
3 For I will proclaim YAHWEH’S name.
Ascribe greatness to our God!
4 The Rock: his work is perfect,
for all his Ways are just.
Psalm 96:1-13 (Anonymous writer)
1 Sing to YAHWEH a new song! Sing to YAHWEH, all the earth.
2 Sing to YAHWEH! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day!
3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.
4 For YAHWEH is great, and greatly to be praised! He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but YAHWEH made the heavens.
6 Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Ascribe to YAHWEH, you families of nations, ascribe to YAHWEH glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to YAHWEH the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 Worship YAHWEH in holy array. Tremble before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “YAHWEH reigns.”
The world is also established. It can’t be moved.
He will judge the peoples with equity.
11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness!
12 Let the field and all that is in it exult! Then all the trees of the woods shall sing for joy
13 before YAHWEH; for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness, the peoples with his truth.
Psalm 100:1-5 (Anonymous writer)

We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, and bless his name.
5 For YAHWEH is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 113:1-9 (Anonymous writer)
1 Praise YAH!
Praise, you servants of YAHWEH, praise YAHWEH’S name.
2 Blessed be YAHWEH’S name, from this time forward and forever more.
3 From the rising of the sun to its going down, YAHWEH’S name is to be praised.
4 YAHWEH is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like YAHWEH, our God, who has his seat on high,
6 Who stoops down to see in heaven and in the earth?
7 He raises up the poor out of the dust. Lifts up the needy from the ash heap,
8 that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
9 He settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children. Praise YAH!
Jeremiah 10:1-2 (Jeremiah is speaking to the children of Israel)
1 Hear the WORD which YAHWEH speaks to you, house of Israel! 2 YAHWEH says,
“Don’t learn the way of the nations,
and don’t be dismayed at the signs of the sky;
for the nations are dismayed at them.
Jeremiah 10:10 (Jeremiah is speaking to the children of Israel)
10 But YAHWEH is the true God.
He is the living God,
and an everlasting King.
At his wrath, the earth trembles.
The nations aren’t able to withstand his indignation.
Luke 4:1-13 (Jesus is being tempted by the devil after being baptized in the Jordan river)
1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness 2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every WORD that proceeds out of YAHWEH’S mouth.’” (Deuteronomy 8:3)
5 The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want. 7 If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”
8 Jesus answered him, “Get behind me Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall fear YAHWEH your God; and you shall serve him, and shall swear by his name.’” (Deuteronomy 6:13)
9 He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here, 10 for it is written,
‘For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways;’
11 ‘They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.’” (Psalm 91:11-12)
12 Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt YAHWEH your God.’” (Deuteronomy 6:16)
13 When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
Matthew 16:15-16 (Jesus is speaking to his disciples)
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
John 3:10-18 (Jesus is speaking to a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews)
10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things? 11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness. 12 If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven. 14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For YAHWEH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For YAHWEH didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. 18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of YAHWEH.
John 10:34-36 (Jesus is speaking to a group of Jews)
34 Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’ (Psalm 82:6) 35 If he called them gods, to whom the WORD of YAHWEH came (and the Scripture can’t be broken), 36 do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of YAHWEH?’
Acts 2:36-40 (Peter is preaching to the house of Isreal)
36 “Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that YAHWEH has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as YAHWEH our God will call to himself.” 40 With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
Romans 10:12-13 (Paul is writing to his brothers in Rome)
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. 13 For, “It will happen that whoever will call on YAHWEH’S name shall be saved.” (Joel 2:32)
1 Timothy 3:14-16 (Paul is writing to Timothy, who he considers his true child in faith)
14 These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly; 15 but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in YAHWEH’S house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16 Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: Who was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
2 Timothy 3:15-17 (Paul is writing his second letter to Timothy)
15 From infancy, you have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus. 16 Every Scripture is YAHWEH-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 17 that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.’
Hebrews 1:1-5 (This was written to people of Hebrew descent who had accepted Jesus as the Messiah)
1 YAHWEH, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 has at the end of these days spoken to us through his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 3 His Son is the radiance of YAHWEH’S glory, the very image of YAHWEH’S substance, and upholding all things by the WORD of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much better than the angels as the more excellent name he has inherited is better than theirs. 5 For to which of the angels did YAHWEH say at any time,
“You are my Son. Today I have begotten you?” (Psalm 2:7)
and again,
“I will be his Father, and he will be my Son?” (2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:13)
Hebrews 11:1-3 . . . 6 (The author of this book is not identified)
1 Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. 2 For by this, the elders obtained testimony. 3 By faith, we understand that the universe has been framed by the WORD of YAHWEH, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible. . . . 6 Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to YAHWEH, for he who comes to YAHWEH must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
James 2:19-24 (James is writing to the twelve tribes which are in the Dispersion)
19 You believe that YAHWEH is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? 21 Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected. 23 So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed in YAHWEH, who credited it to him for righteousness,” (Genesis 15:6) and he was called the friend of YAHWEH. 24 You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith.
1 Peter 3:17-22 (Peter is writing to the chosen ones who are living as foreigners in the Dispersion)
17 For it is better, if it is YAHWEH’S will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil. 18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to YAHWEH, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit, 19 in whom he also went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who before were disobedient, when YAHWEH waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward YAHWEH, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who is at the right hand of YAHWEH, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
Revelation 1:1-6 (John is writing to the seven assemblies that are in Asia)
1 This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which YAHWEH gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, John, 2 who testified to YAHWEH’S WORD and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, about everything that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the WORDS of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.
4 John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from YAHWEH, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne; 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood—6 and we shall be a kingdom of priests (Exodus 19:6; Isaiah 61:6) to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 19:5-13 (John is writing about the voice of an Angel that came from the throne)
5 A voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to YAHWEH, all you his servants, you who fear him, the small and the great!”
6 I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, “Praise YAH! For YAHWEH our God, the Almighty, reigns! 7 Let’s rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and let’s give the glory to him. For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready.” 8 It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9 He said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb.’” He said to me, “These are true WORDS of YAHWEH.”
10 I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, “Look! Don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship YAHWEH, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.”
11 I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself. 13 He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The WORD of YAHWEH.”
